Ann Arbor’s Nichols Arboretum is a wonderful place for engagement photography, especially when the peony gardens are in bloom in the spring. The fall, however, is our favorite time of year. There is just something about the cool weather, and the contrasting color of the leaves against the river. So when Max and Page said they wanted to do a November session during the peak season, we were thrilled.
Page and Max spent their weekend in Metro Detroit visiting family in Michigan. Before they returned back to Chicago, we spent the evening at the Arb to celebrate their Ann Arbor, Michigan engagement. The peonies had long since expired from late spring, and all the remained was fresh raked dirt. We wandered through the woods before we found a beautiful spot that just felt right.
The sun started to peek through as we approached an open field, and we were blessed with perfect light during golden hour. Before long, Page and Max’s awesome personalities shined. Both are incredibly witty, and they compliment each other perfectly. Judging from their sense of humor alone, it was evident they feed off one another’s energy. By the end of the session, we were barely able to keep photographing because we were laughing so hard at Page’s sassy comments.
We can not wait to photograph their wedding at The Henry Ford Museum. Cheers, Page and Max!
