Sometimes we meet a couple and instantly feel like we’ve known them for years. This is exactly how we felt when we met Chantalle and Taylor. These two have the warmest personalities and conversation comes so easily.
They patiently waited all winter for the perfect time to do their Commerce Township, Michigan engagement photographs on Union Lake. We had an incredibly mild winter in metro Detroit and, because of that, we found ourselves waiting for the temperatures to fall low enough to keep the lake frozen and schedule their session.
Even though the ice wasn’t thick enough to skate on, it froze just enough to venture out on. During the early morning session, we were greeted with a warm sun, contrasting the super blue ice. It made making photos of this beautiful couple that much easier.
It’s so nice to capture couples in place special to them. The lake is not only in their back yard, but is a place Chantalle and Taylor spend a lot of time. In winter they spend it ice skating and playing pond hockey. In the summer, they spend it on the boat soaking up the sun.
How awesome are their Olympic Hockey jerseys? Ask Chantalle about the gold leaves on the bottom side of her jersey. (They represent all of the Olympic hockey medals Canada has won.) For those of you that couldn’t guess, Chantalle is originally from Canada.
We’re so excited for their September wedding at Waterview Loft at Port Detroit. Cheers, you two!
