Nobody was ready for what 2020 would bring and it certainly affected those planning a wedding and those of us in the wedding industry. But honestly, there was a silver lining. We saw the rise of micro-weddings and backyard elopements. Weddings became less about the fancy details and more about the heart.

They became small gatherings of inner-family and friend circles focused on the idea of marriage and celebration and less about the formalities. And who knows what traditions will stay from this and which will go, but at least for a brief moment we go to see and feel what it’s like to shed all of those other layers.
